Hello, I’m Clare, a fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist based at CBT and Counselling Woking. I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and I’m accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Whether you’re navigating a crisis or seeking professional guidance to address difficulties, I’m here to help. Whatever you’re facing, I offer a compassionate, understanding space to help you find clarity, resilience, and hope.
I specialise in therapy for a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, and low self-esteem. I also provide support for life events, such as bereavement, miscarriage, relationship challenges, work stress, and health-related issues like cancer, MND, or MS. In addition, my expertise covers conditions like PTSD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and sexual dysfunction.
Together, we’ll create a personalised therapy plan tailored to your unique situation. I may draw upon a variety of approaches during our therapy sessions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), all grounded in a Person-Centred framework.
I’m accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Being a member of the BACP means I adhere to their Ethical Framework. I am also fully insured and have ongoing clinical supervision to ensure I provide the best possible service to my clients
I transitioned into Psychotherapy after a successful career in corporate communications and running my own business. This unique background, combined with my extensive therapy experience, gives me deep insight into workplace pressures and how they affect every aspect of life.
Beyond workplace issues, I help people navigate relationships, self-development, and emotional challenges.
Since 2013, I have also worked as a counsellor for a Surrey hospice, spending the past seven years in palliative care. This role has involved supporting patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families through deeply challenging times.
My work in private practice and a hospice setting allows me to support individuals from diverse backgrounds, all seeking understanding, growth and resolution for life’s complexities.
I incorporate Family and Systemic Practice techniques, starting each counselling journey with a systemic genogram—a visual map of your emotional and physical connections—to lay the foundation for our work together.
My approach is rooted in curiosity. You are the expert on your life—my role is to guide and empower you to overcome or accept your challenges and reach your potential.
