Who you are booking with
The Global Therapy Group SG Pte Ltd is a Singapore-registered company, registration number 202420918K, with its registered address at 2 Venture Drive #19-21, Singapore 608526.
We provide the websites, online booking platform and booking and payment administration.
When you book a counselling session, your contract for counselling is with your chosen self-employed therapist, whose details appear on their profile and booking confirmation. Your therapist is responsible for providing counselling, making clinical decisions and maintaining appropriate professional insurance.
We are responsible for the booking and administrative services we provide. These terms explain the arrangements for using our platform and booking therapy.
Session fees
Our standard fees are:
- Couples counselling: £80 for a one-hour session.
- Individual counselling: £68 for a one-hour session.
These fees apply to face-to-face and online sessions. The total price will be shown before you book and pay.
Fees are reviewed annually. Any changes normally take effect from 1 January and will be displayed before booking. Changes will not affect sessions already booked and paid for.
Sessions are booked individually. You do not have to commit to a minimum number of sessions.
Booking and payment
First appointments must be paid in full when booking.
Follow-up appointments must also be booked and paid through our platform, either using the rebooking link provided by your therapist or by selecting the returning-client option on the website.
Payment for follow-up appointments is due at least 24 hours before the session. If you book within 24 hours of the appointment, payment is due when booking.
Payments are processed through Stripe. Please check your booking confirmation and contact us promptly if any details are incorrect.
Cancellations and rescheduling
Please request cancellations or appointment changes through the booking system. If you cannot do this, contact us at sian@theglobaltherapygroup.com.
If you cancel more than 24 hours before your session, you will receive a full refund. If you reschedule with more than 24 hours’ notice, there is no charge for changing your appointment, and your payment will be transferred to the rearranged session.
If you cancel or reschedule 24 hours or less before the session, the session fee will normally be charged because the appointment has been reserved for you. We will consult your therapist about any exception.
Cancellation charges are intended to cover the loss of a reserved appointment and will be applied fairly, in accordance with your legal rights.
This policy does not remove any cancellation or refund rights you have under applicable law.
Missed sessions and late arrivals
If you cannot attend or expect to be late, please let us know as soon as possible.
If you do not attend, the session fee will normally be charged, subject to the cancellation provisions above.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late without prior notice, your therapist may be unable to provide a suitable session and may treat the appointment as missed. Otherwise, a late-starting session will normally finish at the original time.
A replacement session at no additional charge is not automatic. Where offered, it must be agreed with your therapist and confirmed through us.
If your therapist cannot attend
If your therapist cannot provide a booked session, we will contact you to discuss the available options.
You may choose a full refund for the unprovided session or agree to reschedule or transfer your booking to another available therapist. You do not have to accept an alternative appointment.
Number of sessions and ending therapy
Your therapist will discuss the recommended frequency and number of sessions with you and review this as therapy progresses. Weekly sessions may be recommended, particularly at the beginning.
You are free to stop therapy or choose another practitioner. The cancellation policy still applies to appointments already booked.
If your therapist considers that continuing would be unsuitable, unsafe or outside their competence, they may decline or end therapy. Where appropriate and practicable, they will discuss an ending or alternative support with you. We will help address any affected bookings.
Professional standards and supervision
Therapists work independently and are responsible for their qualifications, competence, professional decisions and appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
All therapists working through our platform are required to have regular professional supervision. Relevant aspects of therapy may be discussed confidentially in supervision, with identifying information minimised wherever possible.
Many, but not all, therapists belong to a professional body or register. Membership information is available on their profile or from us. Where applicable, therapists must follow their professional body’s standards and ethical requirements.
Confidentiality
Your therapist will explain their confidentiality arrangements and any relevant limits at the start of therapy.
Information will be treated confidentially. Disclosure may be necessary where there is a serious risk of harm, a safeguarding concern or a legal obligation. Any disclosure must have an appropriate lawful basis and be limited to what is necessary.
For couples counselling, your therapist will explain how confidentiality applies to joint sessions, individual communications and any separate sessions. One partner is not automatically entitled to the other partner’s confidential information.
Relevant information may also be used or shared where necessary and lawful to manage bookings, respond to a complaint or fulfil other legal responsibilities.
Records and information requests
Your therapist is responsible for keeping and securely storing their clinical records. We hold the booking, payment and administrative information needed to operate our services.
If you wish to request access to personal information, including therapy records, contact us or your therapist. Requests will be considered by the party responsible for the relevant information, in accordance with applicable data protection law.
Information relating to another person, including a partner, will be protected. Access requests do not automatically entitle you to every document in full.
Suitability and referrals
Clients choose their therapist and book directly through our websites. We do not carry out a clinical assessment before booking and may know only what you provide when booking or contacting us.
Your therapist will assess whether their services are suitable for your needs. Where appropriate, they may recommend other support, such as your GP or a specialist service.
Our booking platform is not an emergency or crisis service. If you need urgent assistance, contact an appropriate emergency or crisis service where you are located.
The nature of therapy
Therapy is a collaborative process. Your therapist must provide their services with reasonable care and skill, but a particular outcome cannot be guaranteed.
Progress depends on individual circumstances and a range of factors, including participation during and between sessions.
Online sessions and clients outside the UK
Please tell us before booking if you will be outside the UK during your sessions, and inform your therapist if your location changes.
Your therapist must confirm that they can appropriately provide services to you in that location, taking account of their insurance, professional responsibilities and applicable legal requirements.
You may also need to check any local requirements relevant to receiving therapy. Booking alone does not establish that cross-border therapy is permitted or covered by insurance.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of the service, please let us know so that we can consider your concerns.
Formal complaints should normally be submitted through the Complaints Form on the relevant website. The website’s Complaints Procedure explains how we handle complaints and the information we may need to share.
Where a complaint concerns a therapist, we may ask them to respond to the specific concerns raised. Any information shared must be relevant, necessary and lawful, with client consent obtained where required. We do not routinely request therapy notes, and the confidentiality of both partners in couples counselling must be respected.
If confidentiality prevents us from considering part of a complaint, we will explain this to you. Our complaints procedure does not replace any applicable professional body complaints process.
If your therapist belongs to a professional body with a complaints procedure, you may also contact that body independently. Please ask us if you need their membership details.
Responsibilities and legal rights
Your therapist is responsible for the counselling they provide. The Company is responsible for its own booking, payment and administrative services.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility for negligence or breach where doing so would be unlawful. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Nothing in these terms removes your statutory consumer rights or your rights under applicable data protection law.
Data protection
We and your therapist must handle personal information in accordance with applicable data protection law.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we use booking and administrative information, who it may be shared with, how long it is kept and any relevant international processing or transfers.
Your therapist is responsible for explaining how they handle clinical information and records.
If you have concerns about our handling of your personal information, please contact us. You may also raise concerns with the Information Commissioner’s Office where applicable.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without removing any mandatory rights you may have under the laws applicable to you, including any right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
