About Elcin
Hello, my name is Elcin and I’m a fully qualified and experienced British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited therapist. I’m based at CBT and Counselling Surrey’s Dorking practice, overlooking the beautiful Surrey Hills. I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and offer both short-term and long-term therapy for adults. You can book to see me either face-to-face or online, depending on what suits you best.
Perhaps you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or stuck, I’m here to help. Life can throw unexpected challenges our way, and sometimes emotions like grief, guilt, trauma, or anger can feel too heavy to carry alone. I provide a safe, confidential space where you can explore these feelings and take steps towards improving your mental wellbeing.
I’m passionate about supporting my clients. I will gently help you uncover and challenge any unhelpful beliefs that may be holding you back, while guiding you towards developing tools to cope and grow. Together, we can work on helping you feel more empowered and back on track.

Background & Experience
My journey into therapy began with a lifelong fascination with psychology and a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. After a successful corporate sales career in London, I followed my passion to retrain as a counsellor, earning my Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling alongside various specialist certifications in areas such as trauma, suicide bereavement, and anger management.
Throughout my professional career, I have gained extensive experience working across diverse settings. This includes providing counselling for Age UK to support elderly individuals, and working within a hospital-based foundation offering therapeutic support to cancer patients and their families. I also work closely with a suicide bereavement foundation, supporting individuals struggling with suicidal ideation and families navigating the complex grief of loss to suicide.
I am committed to the highest professional standards and regularly engage in continual professional development. My background in both corporate environments and specialised charitable sectors allows me to bring a grounded, empathetic, and versatile perspective to my clinical practice.
