    About Andrew

Hello, name is Andy and I am a fully qualified counsellor specialising in adult individual therapy. I provide a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can openly discuss your concerns. Whether you are facing challenges at work, struggling with relationships, or dealing with anxiety, depression, or trauma, my goal is to help you rediscover your unique strengths so you can live your life to the fullest.

I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is fundamental to meaningful change. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, ensuring each journey is personalised to meet your specific needs. I integrate various therapeutic models, including elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to help you move forward by challenging and reframing unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours.

As a therapist, I am committed to empowering you to connect with your inner strength. While I primarily focus on your present experiences to build healthy coping mechanisms, we can also explore past events to build greater self-awareness and self-compassion. You can expect a warm, non-judgemental environment where we work collaboratively towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.

I maintain the highest ethical standards as an accredited member of the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists (NCIP). I welcome diversity and have extensive experience working with individuals from all backgrounds, including those with neurodiverse needs.

    Meet Andrew

    Background & Experience

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling alongside specialist diplomas in Eating Disorders and Clinical Supervision. My clinical experience is broad, ranging from providing short-term therapy for anxiety and depression within the NHS to supporting survivors of trauma and sexual abuse. I have also worked extensively in hospice care and with those bereaved by suicide, helping individuals navigate the most challenging periods of grief and loss.

In addition to my clinical training, I bring 25 years of experience working within government organisations and leadership roles. This background gives me a unique, first-hand insight into the pressures of corporate stress and staff management. I draw on this professional history to offer practical, empathetic support to clients navigating work-related stress and high-pressure environments.

    How I Can Help

I'll guide you in identifying and reframing unhelpful thought patterns using effective Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques, empowering you to gain a new perspective.

We'll collaboratively develop a personalised toolkit of practical coping strategies to effectively manage and reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress.

I'll provide specialised, compassionate support for eating disorders, including Binge Eating Disorder, Bulimia, and Anorexia, helping you foster a healthier relationship with food and your body.

We'll explore and implement evidence-based techniques to help you process past traumas and constructively navigate the challenges of grief or bereavement, fostering healing and resilience.

I'll equip you with actionable strategies and insights to effectively manage corporate and work-related pressures, improving your professional well-being and performance.

We'll work together to establish clear, achievable goals, empowering you to build a more fulfilling and purposeful life aligned with your values.
