Hello and welcome! My name is Ellen and I’m a fully qualified and experienced integrative therapist for both individual and couples based at CBT and Counselling Cobham. I have a Diploma in Narrative Therapy and a Post Graduate Diploma in Relationship Therapy. I am also a registered member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) so therefore adhere to their ethical guidelines.

My training was ‘integrative’ which means that I studied various models of counselling. This enables me to draw upon many different therapeutic approaches in order to meet your unique needs. I work in a confidential,  sensitive way in an environment that is warm, relaxed, non-judgemental and fully supportive.

Narrative Therapy, sees you as  the expert on your own life, with your challenges viewed as separate from who you are. This approach helps you understand how your issues affect your life, providing a fresh, outside perspective. It’s a respectful, non-blaming style of therapy that recognises how you make sense of life through your relationships and personal stories.

I see problems as responses to life’s challenges, not as part of who you are—you are not the problem! Together, we’ll identify the changes you want to make and how to achieve them. I’ll actively listen, engage fully, and offer helpful tools as needed, participating in our conversations rather than sitting passively.

I have extensive experience helping people with anxiety, depression, self-esteem challenges, relationship issues, trauma recovery and more. People who have consulted with me have  told me they feel at ease, comfortable and supported in our sessions and appreciate the insights they gain through counselling—insights that empower them to make meaningful, positive changes in their lives and relationships.

Jessica Grante

Tadworth Practice

CBT and Counselling Tadworth

My name is Jessica and I’m a fully qualified and experienced psychotherapeutic Counsellor and registered Member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) based at CBT and Counselling Tadworth.

I have a Psychology BA, a Higher Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling as well as various Certificate qualifications. Such as Ascentis Bereavement Support and L2 Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences. I  specialise in individual and couples therapy and offer a safe, supportive and confidential space for you to explore your unique issues in order to find a path forward.

Perhaps you are struggling with effective communication, caught in a cycle of negative thoughts and emotions, or facing challenges in your personal life. You’re not alone. Emotional and personal issues are incredibly common. However, they don’t have to define or limit your well-being and growth.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Instead, I will empower you to achieve your unique personal goals. Whether that’s improving self-esteem, resolving past trauma and repetitive behaviour patterns, managing anxiety & depression, or gaining greater clarity on your life’s direction.

My approach to therapy

During our therapy sessions, I employ Integrative methodology, which simultaneously draws down on Rogerian person-centred; Freudian psychodynamic; transactional, relational and existential approaches in order to focus on your specific care and needs as an individual. I will help you rediscover healthy coping mechanisms and unravel any unhelpful, negative thinking patterns. If willing, we may delve into your past experiences and life events. This fosters greater self-awareness, understanding and self-compassion.

.Although I’m not a qualified CBT practitioner, the holistic exploration of whether repeated patterns of thoughts (both conscious and unconscious); feelings; attitudes and behaviours are impacting one’s ensuing experiences, can also incorporate a tool kit for facing difficulties in the self-actualisation journey toward effectively understanding & meeting needs/goals.

Working collaboratively we can discuss practical strategies for managing stress, anxiety, overwhelm self-esteem and depression. I foster an environment where sustainable change can flourish. My commitment to evidence-based theories ensures that each therapeutic journey is grounded in proven methods, tailored to meet the unique needs of every person who walks through my door.

Background/experience

My professional journey began with hands-on experience as an unqualified Social Worker. where I supported various councils within London and Kent. A significant part of my career has been dedicated to nurturing the mental well-being of children and young individuals. In this capacity, I collaborated closely with families, educational institutions, and multidisciplinary agencies, ensuring a comprehensive approach to promoting mental health

Parallel to my professional endeavours, I embraced the role of a Bereavement Support volunteer at the national charity, Cruse, as well as a pro-bono counsellor at Sutton’s Women’s Centre supporting survivors of deomestic abuse and violence. This broadened my perspective and enriched my understanding of diverse communities. Driven by a desire for continuous growth, I completed a Level 3 qualification in Therapeutic Counselling.
