In Person Therapy Guildford

Hello, my name is Michelle and I am a fully qualified Therapist based at CBT and Counselling Surrey Guildford practice. I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and I’m accredited by the MBACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and the UKRCP (United Kingdom Register for Counsellors and Psychotherapists)

Although I qualified as a Psychodynamic Therapist, I tend to work in a more eclectic and creative way. Which means I use a variety of different therapeutic approaches to suit your unique situation and individual needs.  I frequently use the powerful techniques of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you examine how your thoughts and feelings shape your experiences. Whichever approach we use, my aim is to help you find a more positive way forward.

Perhaps it’s the first time you have sought therapy and you are wondering what to expect. Or maybe you have had counselling before. Whatever your situation, I do appreciate that it can take great courage to reach out for help. However, please rest assured, I create a warm, safe environment in order for you to feel comfortable enough to open up about what is going on for you. I will be there to listen to your experiences and help you process your experience and help you process this for yourself.

At the beginning of our first session, I’ll ask about your hopes and goals for therapy. It’s absolutely fine if you’re unsure or have mixed feelings – we can work together to bring clarity and focus to your therapy journey.

I work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, anger, bereavement, trauma, OCD, phobias, post-traumatic stress, work-related challenges, abuse, ADD/ADHD, and addiction.

I also have experience supporting individuals on the autism spectrum, those dealing with childhood-related challenges, and people managing chronic fatigue syndrome or ME.

In addition to this, I’m accredited in Counselling and Play Therapy for children age 3+
